Following the launch of the Swiss Accelerator in 2022, Innosuisse has issued a second call for projects in 2023. Applications can be submitted starting on 28 August 2023

Eligible applicants include Swiss SMEs and start-ups that are established on the market and demonstrate above-average innovation potential. Proposed products and services must be able to be implemented quickly and be scalable.

As startups in Switzerland are still not eligible to apply for proposals under Horizon Europe such as those offered by the European Innovation Council (EIC), the Federal Council has decided to retain the Swiss Accelerator as a transitional measure.

Similar to the EIC Accelerator programme, Swiss SMEs and start-ups undergo a three-stage application process: a short application for screening, a full application for detailed assessment, and an invitation to an interview for a final decision. The deadline for the short application is 9 October at noon CEST.

Innosuisse will award a maximum of 70 percent of project costs with the company bearing 30 percent of the costs itself. Innosuisse funding amounts to a maximum of 2.5 million Swiss francs per application.
