María Jesús Piña
Senior Innovation Consultant
She graduated in Biology from the Complutense University of Madrid and got a Master’s Degree in Biotechnology from the Aliter Business School. She has a PhD in Biomedical Research from the University of Valladolid. María Jesús has extensive experience in biomaterial design related to drugs delivery. When she was preparing her thesis, she got the chance of working in India (Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences & Technology) and the United States (at the Duke University’s biomaterial department). During this period, she published in 8 high impact journals and she also participated in several international congresses.
Later, she continued developing her professional career in science and innovations, writing H2020 proposals. Simultaneously, she managed diverse projects about clinical and preclinical research for the cardiology’s department of the Gregorio Marañón General University Hospital during 3 years.
María Jesús shows a huge interest in business development, helping new companies to succeed in their innovative ideas. She enjoys learning about new issues and technologies, engaging multidisciplinary teams.
Outside the office, she likes spending time with family and friends. Whenever it’s possible, she goes to the countryside to hike or practice MTB with the finest company.
