People’s mobility data is essential to make informed decisions, especially for those verticals that depend on mobility patterns to plan effective actions. While marketers are wondering what is the impact of their outdoor advertising campaigns, people responsible for smart-cities want to effectively put into practice their policies, and toll-roads managers need mobility predictions to make resources planning. In the era of information technology, counting with reliable prediction tools has become a worthwhile competitive advantage.
Thinking about these needs, Kido Dynamics has developed DEMOGRAPHICA, a big data solution that analyses data provided by Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) to forecast population’s mobility patterns complying with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Initially, the main objective of this project is to boost data-driven decisions for multiple industries, such as smart cities, mobility and transportation, tourism or marketing, amongst others. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the use of this technology has gone further as it has been useful to predict the effects of mobility on the spread of the disease.
