Due to the increase in population expected by 2050, the production of water, energy and food are the 3 critical points to be able to keep the population at the current standard of living. Growing in greenhouses seems to be the solution for the latter, since it manages to make the soil yield 100% more compared to open-air agriculture.
Brite Hellas and its solution, PanePowerSW, have managed to develop solar panels, translucent by up to 70%, for the generation of sustainable energy. This allows the use of large cultivation areas such as greenhouses, as well as their installation in buildings and windows of all kinds. Among its benefits, there is the reduction of the energy cost of greenhouses by up to 25% and 30% in buildings.
