The i4i Product Development Awards (PDA) aim to support translational research and development of medical devices, in vitro diagnostics, and patient-focused digital health technologies

Let’s explore the key aspects of the i4i PDA initiative and the opportunities it provides for healthcare innovators to improve patient lives and advance medical technology.

Who Can Apply: Eligibility Criteria for i4i PDA Funding

To be eligible for the i4i PDA, collaborative projects must be led by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), NHS providers, or higher education institutions (HEIs) with a developed proof-of-concept technology.

Projects can last for a minimum of 24 months and a maximum of 36 months, and the lead organisation must be registered in England.

Some examples of activities funded can be Research & Development projects, clinical evaluation,  health economics, patient/public involvement, CE marketing, activities towards commercialisation and activities to facilitate NHS uptake.

There is no upper funding limit for the i4i PDA, but proposals must fully justify their costs.
