The graphics art sector faces a profound transformation process affected by key trends such as automatisation and robotisation. Nevertheless, the technological progress achieved in the areas of pre-printing and printing does not correspond to those taking place in the post-printing step, which entails the risk of losing the advantages previously generated during this ending process.

In this context, Largoiko, a company from Navarra (Spain) dedicated to systems automation and manufacturing machined pieces and special machines for various sectors, has developed PaL-F. This project consists of a robotic palletiser cell for finished books at the end of the biding lines, which presents some advantages such as process automation, a smaller required space, more operational performance and reduced costs, among others.

The commercialisation of this innovation may mean a complete transformation in the graphic arts sector. This is why it has received the support of institutions such as CDTI (through the PID programme) and the Government of Navarra, thanks to its R&D regional funding line.
