The aircraft traction system makes it difficult to carry out the necessary manoeuvres for optimal parking in hangars, which causes limitations and inefficiency.
To solve this problem, DTA has designed and developed a system made up of three AGVs. Thanks to its configuration, extensive movements of large-tonnage and large-sized goods become a reality, making it possible to transport planes. This highly engineered solution allows gaining space in hangars due to its multidirectional system, including side entries. This is a novelty as this kind of movement wasn’t viable before (tractors just could enter straight ahead).
This DTA project represents a highly relevant innovation for sectors such as aeronautics. Furthermore, it can be extrapolated to other industries as it provides a versatile and valid solution for the adequate transport of high-tonnage and large-volume cargo.
