Alterity is a Biscayan startup revolutionizing the lithium battery sector, focusing on sustainability and electric mobility. Founded in 2018 and headquartered at BIC Ezkerraldea in Barakaldo, Alterity specializes in the design and manufacture of modular and sustainable batteries for light electric vehicles, such as scooters, bicycles and motorcycles, as well as industrial solutions for AGVs (autonomous guided vehicles).
Far from being a simple battery manufacturer, Alterity is committed to a business model based on the circular economy. Its batteries offer greater autonomy and lower weight than traditional batteries but are also designed to be repairable and remanufacturable, extending their useful life and reducing their environmental impact.
With CDTI funding through the NEOTEC call for proposals, Alterity has developed its innovative, intelligent battery management system (BMS), which optimizes its life cycle and facilitates its reuse. This approach allows companies to reduce costs and contribute to a more sustainable future by reducing material waste and resource use.
