As of 1 July 2025, Switzerland proudly assumes the chairmanship of Eureka, the world’s largest public network for international cooperation in R&D and innovation. The symbolic handover took place during the Eureka Network Meeting in Montreal from 11–13 June, passed on by the Canadian-German Co-Chair.

A Year to Shape Global Innovation

For the next 12 months, Innosuisse, Switzerland’s innovation agency, will lead the Eureka network under a Federal Council mandate. The Swiss chairmanship comes at a pivotal time, as Eureka marks its 40th anniversary and sets out to shape the next decade of innovation “beyond borders.”

With over 45 member countries and a strong track record of funding more than 7,000 cross-border innovation projects, Eureka is a vital driver of global collaboration and competitiveness.

    Switzerland Eureka Chair Priorities

Switzerland’s chairmanship will focus on three core priorities:

    • Creating value for Eureka members and beneficiaries.

    • Focusing on impact through a more efficient, inclusive funding portfolio.

    • Pursuing operational excellence and strategic planning for Eureka’s future.

Key events include the Global Innovation Summit 2026 and Swiss Biotech Days, offering opportunities for international matchmaking, knowledge sharing, and partnership building.

Through inclusive leadership and strategic foresight, Switzerland aims to strengthen Eureka as a platform for resilient, impactful, and sustainable innovation worldwide.
